SNOOKER REPORT TUESDAY 28th JANUARY 2020

PRINCESS GARDEN snooker handicap league.

St Thomas’ Tower who have been top of the league for the whole of the first half of the season have been toppled by St Aubin Warriors.
St Thomas’ Tower lost 6-2 at home to last years champions Tower Beans, St Aubin Warriors won 5-3 at St Brelade
At last, Ernie Bird, Captain of Mechanics A, wins his first match since December 2017

Gary Boschat (14) drew with Byron Le Cornu (35) Gary won the first frame on the pink after Byron made a foul on the blue, both started the second potting some good balls but Byron eventually ran out a comfortable winner
Sean McDonald (-7) drew with Robert Le Moel (35) Robert won the first frame getting a fair amount of the run of balls, and with just the last four colours remaining, the frame was still in the balance when Robert got a lucky snooker on the brown, receiving eight points in fouls then potted brown and blue to leave Sean needing to get numerous snookers but conceded the frame. The second frame was a complete contrast, Sean played much better and ended being a comfortable winner with the help of a 28 break, Robert potting just 4 balls. Sean also made a 26 in the first
Karl Le Fevre (-21) drew with Aaron Canavan (-63) Aaron made a couple of mistakes in the first and was punished by Karl. The second turned out to be a one sided frame with Aaron winning in two visits, making an 82 and on his next visit made a 37 just missing the black for a clearance, Karl was restricted to potting just one red.
Steve Thomas (0) lost to Chris Blampied (14) Chris was a comfortable winner in both assisted in the second with a 22 break, inflicting Steve’s second defeat in a row.

Tower Pocket Rockets 1-7 Tower Pirates
Nathan Piziura (7) drew with Tony Le Poidevin (0). Nathan won the first on the black with Tony a comfortable winner in the second
Daniel Cavey (0) lost to Ryan Shaw (7) Ryan playing his first league match for some four years played well to beat Daniel.
Ryan Yates (14) lost to Stephen Morgan (0) Stephen was a comfortable winner in both frames to win his third match in a row and now leads the frame winners league.
James Martin (7) lost to Ben Garnier (42) First loss of the season for James, Ben winning the first on the black and a comfortable winner in the second.

Mechanics A 3-5 Mechanics Snatchers
Paul Bradbury (42) lost to Jeremy Gogan (-7) Jeremy was giving a 49 start in each frame, in the first Jeremy made a 39 with the frame being decided on the last three colours. The second was a comfortable win for Jeremy.
Lloyd Letherbarrow (42) lost to Gary Britton (-63) Gary was giving the maximum 84 points start in each frame and to win had to be in top form. This would appear to be the case with Gary winning the first frame 124/84 in just three visits, making a 35, 43 and a 46 clearance. The second was even better winning it 126/87 with just two visits, making a 75 and 51. Lloyd was restricted to scoring just 3 points in total over the two frames.
Ernie Bird (42) won against Guy Heys (7) Having a 35 start in each frame was of great assistance for Ernie, winning both comfortably for his first win since December 2017.
Phil Papworth (28) drew with Ross Symes (-35) Ross was giving a 63 start in each frame, with a 24 was a comfortable winner in the first 102/73. The second was a total contrast with Phil being a comfortable winner.

Mechanics B 3-5 St Lawrence Miniature Rifle Club
Bob Proper (42) lost to Jordan Proctor (35) Jordan was a comfortable winner in the first and won the second on the black for his second win
Sam Duncan (42) won against David Proctor (7) Sam was a comfortable winner in both for just his second win of the season.
Richard Corbett (42) drew with Andre Bonjour (35) Richard was a comfortable winner in the first with Andre winning the second on the black
Bob Rondel (42) lost to Martin Houguez (35) Martin was a comfortable winner in the first and won the second on the black for his second win in a row. Bob losing for just the second time.

Vinchelez 5-3 Services Short Cue Wonders
Fran Savarese (35) won against Lee Travers (7) a 28 start in each frame was enough for Fran to win a comfortable match to secure his second win of the season with Lee losing for the third time
Chris Stead (35) drew with Ryan Swann (42) Chris winning the first on the pink.
Alastair Simon (14) won against Paul Destro (35) Alastair winning both on the black
Phil Romeril (0) lost to Robbie Kilpatrick (-7) Robbie played well in both to defeat Phil and avoid a heavy loss

Bob Denison (21) drew with John Mahoney (35) Bob was a comfortable winner in the first but lost the second on the black
Herbie Bruggraber lost to Stephen Rive (35) Stephen won both on the black
John Baudains drew with David Ferre (21) both comfortable winners in their respective frame win
Connor Davies (-28) lost to Andy Richardson (0) Connor was giving a 28 start in each frame and was outplayed in both for only his second loss and only a second win for Andy.
