Dear All
We will be introducing a new tournament called the Jersey Masters which will be played on a weekend in September 2023 and annually thereafter. It will be a handicapped event with the players playing off their final week’s handicap of the previous season. There is no entry fee, however as it is a masters event, this is not an Open, and you will need to qualify for it by achieving any of the following credentials:
- Island Champion
- Island Runner Up
- Byfleet Champion
- Byfleet Runner Up
- Winner of qualifier event 1 ( Evening Tournament either at The Mechanics or First Tower) To be played in May
- Winner of qualifier event 2 ( Evening Tournament either at The Mechanics or First Tower) To be played in May/June
- Top 10 of the averages ( if one of the above is in the top 10 then number 11 will be invited and so forth till we get 16)
The draw for the actual event will take place right before the start time with no player seedings.
I am going to look to see if we can get some sponsorship for the event which will mean prize money for at least the winner and runner up. Any help form anyone who may know a sponsor please let me know.
