Tower Tree recently beat St Aubin’s in the Billiards div 1 knockout final at the St Aubin’s club.
In the first to 250 Howard Smith edged out Bert Soyer by 250 points to 233.
Second up was Karl Le Fevre against Peter Robinson. In another tight match, Peter eventually ran out winner by 250 – 230, giving Tower Tree an overall lead of 37 going into the last match.
With work to do, Richard De la Haye played Bob Denison, with Bob only requiring 214 points with their lead at 37. In another very close game, Richard won by 218 – 214, albeit in vane as Bob scored the required amount to confirm his team as champions.
