Tower Pirates win Snooker Team Knockout

Tower Pirates played the Tower Sharks at First Tower on Tuesday 8th April in the Snooker Team Knockout final

Playing first Steve Wilson (28 hcap) played Rob Newton (21 hcap) and effectively set up the win, scoring 203 points against Robbie’s 79. Steve won the 1st frame 95 v 49 and the second frame 108 v 30, giving the Pirates an advantage of 124 points.

The second match was Steve Morgan (7 hcap) v Andy Richardson (7 hcap). In a very tight match Andy won 94 points to 93, losing the first frame 78 v 31 but winning the second 63 v 15.

With a lead of 123 points going into the third match, Scott Le Noa (21 hcap) battled it out against Clive De Sousa (scr). Again the Pirates won the first frame with Scott compiling 80 points v Clive’s 44. In the second frame Clive battled back and won by 60 v 47, meaning Scott won the match 127 v 104, increasing Pirates lead overall from 123 points to 146.

In the final match Ben Garnier (42) played Alan Cook (28). The first frame was a tight affair with Ben coming out winner by 66 v 60 thus increasing Pirates lead overall to 152.

With Alan having to give a 14  start as well as the deficit of 152, the teams agreed to void the last frame meaning the Pirates won by 489 v 337.
