The semi finals of the JBSA Island Billiards took place at the Jersey Mechanics Institute on Thursday 13th March
In the first match, Island Champion Clayton Coates took on Karl Le Fevre on table 7. Karl started off very well with a forty odd and 30 odd break. However a fine 52 break got Clayton back level as the players approached 200. The second half of the match was a bit more scrappy. However Clayton started to turn the screw and with several 20 breaks eventually ran out 400 – 347 winner.
The second match was between Martyn Le Gallais and Howard Smith on table 6. Martyn gained an early lead, but throughout the first 200 points, Howard kept within touching distance of Martyn. But, like Clayton in the first match, Martyn managed to put several breaks in the teens and twenties to get the upper hand and eventually ran out the winner by 400-312.
The final will take place at The Jersey Mechanics on table 7, Thursday 26th March, commencing at 19:00. The final is the first to 500.
