Danny Brannan won his first snooker tournament in his maiden season on Tuesday night at the Jersey Mechanics.
In an extremely tight match, he edged out Dan Cavey by 2 frames to 1.
In the first frame, Brannan got off to a fast start and won the frame with ease. However in the second, Dan C potted some great balls and played several cracking safety shots which earned him in the region of 24 points during the frame.
The 3rd frame was a tight affair with Brannan getting a lead before Cavey fighting back with the colours left. However needing blue and pink, Brannan potted a long blue before potting a great pink to take the Byfleet title.
Our president Byron Le Cornu presented the trophy to Danny and noted, to which all supporters agreed, was a very entertaining match and that credit should go to both players for their performances.
Many thanks to Karl Le Fevre for reffing and to Aaron Canavan who set up the electronic scoring system for the final and finally to the JMI for the use of the club.
